How we use cookies.

ChildScribe takes a minimal approach to cookies. We use only what's necessary to keep the app working and to remember your preferences. That's it.

We don't use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies that identify individual users. We don't participate in cross-site tracking. We don't let third parties set cookies on our site to follow you around the internet. When you visit childscribe.com, the only cookies on your device are ones we set for a clear, functional purpose.

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They help the site remember things about your visit -- like whether you're logged in or which settings you prefer -- so you don't have to re-enter that information every time you load a new page.

We think it's just as important to be clear about what we don't do. ChildScribe does not use:

ChildScribe uses Stripe to process payments. When you visit a checkout or billing page, Stripe may set its own cookies in order to process your payment securely, detect fraud, and comply with financial regulations. These cookies are governed by Stripe's privacy policy, not ours.

Stripe's cookies are only present on pages where payment processing occurs. They do not appear on the rest of the ChildScribe site and are not used for advertising or tracking purposes.

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically view which cookies are stored, delete specific cookies, or block cookies entirely. Please note that if you disable essential cookies, you will not be able to log in to ChildScribe or use the app.

Here's how to manage cookies in the most common browsers:

Under the EU's ePrivacy Directive and the UK GDPR, cookies that are "strictly necessary" for a service to function do not require user consent. Because ChildScribe uses only essential and functional cookies -- session management, security protection, and basic preference storage -- we fall within this exemption and do not display a cookie consent banner.

If we ever add non-essential cookies (such as analytics or marketing cookies), we will implement a proper consent mechanism before those cookies are set. You will always have the opportunity to accept or decline non-essential cookies before they appear on your device.

If we make material changes to this cookie policy -- such as adding new categories of cookies or changing how existing cookies are used -- we will notify you via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. We will also update this page with a revised effective date.

Given our commitment to minimal cookie usage, we don't anticipate frequent changes. But if something does change, you'll know about it well in advance.
